BMW E90 Shock Absorbers — Bilstein B4, B6, B8 & Tein

Shock absorbers and dampers for the BMW 3 Series E90, E91, E92 and E93, built 2004–2013. Bilstein B4 restores the factory ride, B6 is firmer at the same ride height, B8 is the shortened damper for cars already lowered on sports springs, and Tein EnduraPro is the Tein equivalent of B6. Choosing between the four damper ranges

B4 is the OE-comparable replacement: the factory ride restored exactly, on your original springs. B6 is firmer at that same standard height and suits an E90 whose damping has gone soft but which the owner does not want lowered. B8 is different in kind — it is a shortened damper built for a car already lowered 30–40 mm on sports springs, and fitted to a standard-height E90 it will run short of travel. What to check before ordering

Front and rear are separate part numbers and should be bought and fitted in axle pairs. The E90 rear is the trap: E91 Touring and E93 cabriolet cars differ from the saloon, and cars built with self-levelling rear suspension differ again — check the rear listing against your exact body style. Renew strut support bearings and protection kits alongside the damper, and have the alignment checked afterwards.
